Qualifications

Supervisor Nuclear In-Service Inspection (Complex)

Job Summary

Job Summary This position is responsible for the direct supervision, oversight, and coaching of assigned ISI, Radiography, and Complex NDE Coordinators, and as well as ISI NDE Level III personnel at McGuire, Oconee, Catawba, Robinson, Harris and Brunswick. Task include conducting annual and mid-year performance reviews, time approval, expense report review and approval, and in field observations of ISI and Complex NDE Team members, including contract workers personnel. This position will be expected to perform supervisory functions within the site corrective action program and to coordinate and/or perform self-assessments and participate in industry benchmarking trips. This candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of plant personnel and management. This position will interface with site ANII, NRC, Complex NDE Vendors and other internal and external stakeholders, as needed. The candidate will be expected to assist in the development of online and outage ISI and Complex NDE budgets, invoice approval, and the identification of cost and manpower savings opportunities and to act upon those that are within their area or responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of assigned ISI Coordinators and NDE Level III personnel at Brunswick, Harris, Robinson, McGuire, Catawba and Oconee.
• Direct supervision of assigned Complex ISI NDE personnel at Brunswick, Harris, Robinson, McGuire, Catawba and Oconee.
• Engagement with both internal and external stakeholders of the ISI Program and Complex NDE Programs for the purpose of maintaining a consistent way the NDE examinations are implemented and managed at each site.
• Perform the role of Behavioral Observation Program (BOP) supervisor for all assigned Complex and ISI NDE support personnel including contract workers.
• Perform the role of job sponsor for all assigned Complex and ISI NDE support contracts and contractor personnel.
• Direct oversight of ISI Coordination, NDE Level III and Complex NDE Teams, including safety briefs, pre-job briefs and in-field oversight.

Basic Qualifications

• High School / GED and 5 years Minimum Required Related Work Experience
• Greater than 5 years’ experience in Nuclear Generation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical OR Bachelor’s Degree

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Complex NDE experience including IVVI and reactor vessel NDE examinations
• Proficiency in Complex NDE work management processes
• Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety measures/controls
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to lead/supervise teams to attain desired goals
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of ASME codes and related documents
• Working knowledge of the Duke Energy contract management processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of inspection criteria contained in the Nuclear Inspection Program Manual and the NDE Manual
• Effective interpersonal and human relations skills to work and communicate with individuals of varied backgrounds
• Ability to interpret design specifications, standards, manual, drawings maintenance procedures and ISI/ NDE procedures
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with WORD, EXCEL and other computer programs
• Extensive knowledge of ASME code sections II, III, V, IX, and XI.
• Knowledge of Reg. Guides Duke is committed to.
• Prior supervisory experience in Nuclear Generation.
• Demonstrated advanced computer capabilities.
• Proficient in the Job Sponsor process.
• Work and plan a budget to efficiently utilize resources and equipment.
• Working knowledge of inspection criteria contained in the Nuclear Inspection Program Manual and the NDE Manual
