Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Bagdad, AZ is seeking a Supervisor Mill Maintenance to lead the safe, efficient operation of the maintenance team at our Bagdad facility.

You will plan, assign, and review work, implement production plans, and ensure equipment readiness. The role requires strong supervisory experience, technical knowledge in mining maintenance, and commitment to safety and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Requires 5 years of operational experience with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree with at least one summer internship in mining/industrial environment.
• Certifications or licensure may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Budget preparation and administration skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coordinates, and controls the safe and efficient operation of assigned unit.
• Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff for assigned unit.
• Implements production plans according to approved schedule.
• Participates in the full range of daily operational duties as needed.
• Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies problems and directs remedial action.
• Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
• Prepares estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment for projected activities.
• Maintains an inventory of parts and materials.
• Approves purchases of materials and equipment, maintains time, materials and equipment use reports.
• Requisitions tools, supplies, materials and equipment.
• Trains staff in safety procedures.
• Maintains safety data sheets for crews.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You Will Do

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in a mining or industrial environment.
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
• Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
• Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$87,500 - $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
