Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for Bagdad, AZ. You will supervise a work unit, coordinate operations, and ensure safe, efficient production according to schedules. The role involves staffing, training, safety, and equipment oversight in a 24/7 mining environment.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma with 5 years of supervision or a technical mining degree with internship and leadership experience. Preferred SAP familiarity and conveyors experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of related operational and supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least 1 internship (or equivalent) in mining/industrial environment, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement production plans according to approved schedules and review daily operational duties.
• Conduct performance evaluations and maintain inventories, training staff in safety procedures.

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, you supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. In this role, you assign, supervise, and review the work of staff. You implement production plans according to approved schedules and participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks as needed. As a Supervisor of Maintenance, you inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action. You conduct performance evaluations, prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment, and maintain inventories and approve purchases. You also manage time, materials, and equipment use reports, train staff in safety procedures, maintain safety data sheets, and perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with conveyors
• Crush/Convey experience
• Previous SAP experience

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$87,500 - $120,000.This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
