The Sewing Room Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work activities of mechanics, ensuring routine repairs and preventive maintenance of sewing machines, and maintaining parts inventory. This role ensures that all sewing machines and production equipment are always in working order.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Supervision:
• Supervise the mechanics in implementing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program for sewing machines, production equipment, and other machinery.
• Ensure that all equipment is in an acceptable state of repair by establishing and enforcing effective maintenance policies and procedures.
• Supervise daily activities of the mechanics, prioritizing maintenance tasks to minimize machine downtime and optimize production.
• Vendor and Equipment Coordination:
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for the installation of new equipment or processes.
• Write requisitions for new or replacement parts, supplies, machinery, and equipment.
• Shop Maintenance and Organization:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment in compliance with company standards.
• Quality and Safety Standards:
• Monitor the completion of machine maintenance and repairs to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise to address mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues as needed.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities, including all related requisitions.
• Additional Duties:
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
