We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a Supervisor, Manufacturing Production (Injection Molding), supporting a 24/7 injection molding operation, you will be trusted to provide leadership and oversight for the weekend day shift of production operators and material handlers, while working closely with metrology, engineering, process technicians, tool room, and maintenance functions at the Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX!In this role, a typical day will include:
- Adhering to strict quality Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements for medical device molding.
- Following quality management system requirements including performing nonconformance investigations and implementing effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Ensuring team is follow safety guidelines and procedures including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Leading the way in employee engagement and instilling a culture of achievement through the development of stretch goals and by celebrating team wins.
- Develop, track and support individual team members' goals and objectives.
- Manage employee performance and perform bi-annual performance reviews.
- Aligning weekly schedule demands to equipment capacity and implementing build plan as required.
- Ability to assess part defects, develop appropriate action plan, and align resources for troubleshooting.
- Maintaining staffing and training requirements for associates in support of shift volumes.
- Effectively coordinating Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule requirements with support teams comprised of engineering, tool room, maintenance, and process technicians.
- Maintaining productivity metrics in Visuant software and initiating continuous improvement tasks or projects when below target.
What You'll Bring to Alcon:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and/or Materials experience.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Process Improvement experience.
- Ability to write technical documents/reports, such as standard operating procedures, deviation/non-conformance reports, etc.
- Ability to collect and analyze data and make decisions to drive business results.
