Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor in the San Diego Innovation Center to lead daily pilot manufacturing execution across assigned areas, coordinating with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver safe, compliant builds.

You will mentor manufacturing staff, use production data to drive improvements, and apply lean methodologies to improve safety, quality, flow, and turnaround in a high-mix environment. Bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years’ experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree; 5-8 years in industry.
  • Informal management/team lead experience preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily pilot manufacturing execution across assigned areas, translating program priorities into shift plans.
  • Ensure a safe, compliant work environment with EHS requirements and quality systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and PM to keep builds on schedule.
  • Confirm readiness of people, materials, equipment, documentation, training, and processes; escalate risks with owners and recovery plans.
  • Coach and develop manufacturing associates and leads with daily direction and accountability.
  • Use data on schedule adherence, yield, downtime, cycle time, and labor to drive improvements.
  • Apply lean, 6S, visual management, and standardized work to improve safety, quality, flow and turnaround.
  • Support new product introductions, process development, tech transfer, and controlled documentation updates.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Manager on capacity, capability, and resource planning for the Innovation Center.

Meet The Team

The San Diego Innovation Center is where new technologies, manufacturing processes, and product innovations are transformed from concept into scalable production solutions. Our pilot manufacturing teams support a dynamic portfolio of development and clinical builds across Sensors, Applicators, Test Lab, and other emerging capabilities. As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead an agile team in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, partnering with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to deliver safe, compliant, and predictable execution while preparing future products and processes for scale.

Where You Come In
  • Lead daily pilot manufacturing execution across assigned areas, translating changing program priorities into clear shift plans, staffing assignments, and build-readiness actions.
  • Ensure a safe, compliant work environment by reinforcing EHS requirements, quality systems, good documentation practices, and proactive risk identification.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Program Management to resolve constraints and keep development and clinical builds on schedule.
  • Confirm people, materials, equipment, documentation, training, and process requirements are ready before build start; elevate risks early with clear owners and recovery plans.
  • Coach and develop manufacturing associates and leads through daily direction, skills development, cross-training, performance feedback, and consistent accountability.
  • Use operational data, including schedule adherence, yield, downtime, cycle time, and labor utilization, to identify trends and drive practical improvements.
  • Apply lean manufacturing, 6S, visual management, and standardized work to improve safety, quality, flow, flexibility, and turnaround time in a high-mix pilot environment.
  • Support new product introduction, process development, technology transfer, and controlled documentation updates, including work instructions, build records, and bills of material.
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Manager to balance near-term execution with capacity, capability, and resource planning for the evolving Innovation Center portfolio.
What Makes You Successful
  • You have 2+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing or another FDA-regulated environment.
  • You have demonstrated experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing, pilot plant, new product introduction, or development-build environment; 4+ years of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • You communicate clearly in writing and verbally, set expectations, provide timely escalation, and build alignment across technical and operational teams.
  • You are comfortable managing changing priorities, incomplete information, and competing program needs while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance.
  • You can interpret manufacturing data, identify root causes, and convert findings into sustainable actions that improve execution and readiness.
  • You demonstrate a hands-on leadership style, sound judgment, accountability, and a commitment to developing people and strengthening team capability.
  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 6S, and standardized work education or practical experience is preferred.
