Job summary

Tempur Sealy in Phoenix seeks a Maintenance Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical processes used in mattress production.

You will lead maintenance staff and contractors, ensure safety, and support production goals. Requires a bachelor’s in mechanical or electrical engineering and CMMS experience; 2 years in manufacturing; certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• 2 years of experience with manufacturing, mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulic systems, HVAC, pumps, piping, and PLCs.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with CMMS (computer maintenance management systems).
• Arc flash, HAZWOPER, and forklift certifications or ability to obtain.
• Certificates or licenses in electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, boilers, or PLC controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, start-up, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical processes used in mattress production.
• Manage and maximize output and longevity of plant equipment.
• Plan, delegate, and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles and codes.
• Direct maintenance staff, contractors, and OEMs to ensure safety and timely production.
• Collaborate with Plant Director to meet production needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

• Maintainresponsibility for the installation, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and electrical processes used in the manufacture of mattresses, mattress components, and similar bedding products. Such equipment mayinclude:sewing equipment, foam fabrication equipment, motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc.

• Manageand maximize the output ofplant equipmentusedinproduction, functional longevity, and aestheticof the products.

• Plan, delegate, and perform workthatrequires athorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, written specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, andtheprinciples of operation and applicationforelectronic equipment.

• Directly manage all maintenance staff, contractors,OEM'sto ensuresafety,timely production,andcompletion of their projects.

• Collaborate with Plant Director and Department Supervisors to ensure successful accomplishment of thesite's production needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range 70,000- 100,000

What You'll Need (Qualifications):

• A bachelor's degree inmechanical or electrical engineering(or equivalentexperience).

• 2yearsofexperiencewithademonstrated understanding ofmanufacturing,mechanical,and electrical systems,including:hydraulic systems, HVAC, low-and high-pressure-pumps, open and closed loop piping systems, and PLC's.

• Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

• Demonstrated experience with computer maintenance management systems.

• Arc flash, HAZWOPER, and forklift operator'scertifications, or the ability to obtain the certifications.

• Certificates or licenses in electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, boilers, or PLC Controls are preferred.
