Job summary

Pryer Aerospace Llc is seeking a Machining Supervisor to lead a CNC machining team on the production floor. You will ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement and maintaining ERP-based schedules.

The ideal candidate has machining experience with 3+ years of supervision in manufacturing, plus ERP/MRP proficiency and a commitment to lean practices like 5S.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory or leadership role in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day machining department operations.
  • Ensure safety policies are strictly followed on the shop floor.
  • Monitor production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with Programming, Tooling, and Quality to resolve issues.
  • Maintain production and labor reporting in the ERP system.
  • Promote lean manufacturing and 5S continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

The Machining Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the machining department to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives are achieved. This position will supervise CNC machinists and fabricators while driving continuous improvement, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality standardsThis position will play a critical role in the production process and contribute to the team’s overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to delivering excellence in aerospace manufacturing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervise day-to-day operations of the machining department.Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company safety policies.Monitor production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer delivery requirements.Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality procedures.Review machine utilization, efficiency, scrap, and downtime to improve overall performance.Coordinate with Programming, Tooling, and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues.Manage employee attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and training.Conduct daily production meetings and communicate departmental goals and priorities.Ensure tooling, fixtures, and raw materials are available to support production.Support new product introductions and process improvements.Maintain accurate production and labor reporting within the ERP system.Promote lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.Assist with budgeting, staffing, and capital equipment planning.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.Ability to wear personal protective equipment ae required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.WORK ENVIRONMENTOn the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).SAFETY SENSITIVEThis position is designated as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law, including the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
