3rd SHIFT SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Hours 11 PM - 7 AM
Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
The SupplyOne Plastics Shift Supervisor reports to the SupplyOne Plastics Operations Manager. This role requires the ability to direct, train & accommodate production employees that setup, troubleshoot & operate in-line and cut-in-place thermoforming machines.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
- Ensure all production employees are following company policies and procedures.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is properly being used.
QC Checks are being performed properly by all Process Techs & Operators.
Process Techs, Operators and Packers are following all quality instructions on the QA Notation Sheet for each production job.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager on production efficiencies for each machine on a daily basis.
- Communicate with Process Techs and Tool Prep to ensure that the next production tools are prepped and ready for the next production runs.
- Train and help Process Techs and Operators when needed with trouble shooting or any other tasks to help improve production efficiencies and scrap reduction.
- Improve Cycle Times on the thermoforming machines while producing quality parts.
- Improve Setup Times with the Process Techs on thermoforming machines.
- Reduce on Material Usage (scrap reduction) on production jobs.
- Reduce Downtime on thermoforming machines.
- Reduce Customer Complaints; ensure good, quality parts are being produced.
- Communicate with the maintenance department when problems arise on production equipment or any other maintenance needs.
- Communicate with QC if there are any quality issues.
- Coordinate the work for Process Techs on a daily basis between tool prep & setups according to the schedule.
- Cover for Process Techs or Operators when they are out on PTO or call off.
- Assist Process Techs with setups to reduce setup times
- Prep tools for production run.
- Communicate with Operations Manager, Engineering & Tool Shop for tooling repairs and modifications.
- Ensure tooling is placed in the proper recorded home.
- Ensure Daily Audit & Pre-Shift Machine Checklist paperwork is properly completed by production employees.
- Train and Interact with Packers (ensure product is being picked the most efficient way possible).
- Coordinate breaks for Process Techs, Operators and Packers.
- Ensure all production employees are following good housekeeping policies.
- Ensure that raw material is at machines and ready for production.
- Work safely and look out for the safety of others.
- Able to follow detailed work instructions.
- Perform job duties in order to meet quality, cost and on time delivery goals.
- Able to work over 40 hours if required.
- Other duties as required by the company.
Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
- Basic mathematical and measuring skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to work in a factory environment which includes being on your feet for long periods of time and durations of hot weather during certain seasons of the year.

Supervisory Requirements
- Supervisor Experience Preferred, but not required.
Additional Information
- Qualified candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must have the ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
- Breaks are paid for which include two 10 minute breaks & one 20 minute lunch.
