Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a Nursing Supervisor (LPN) in South Carolina to lead resident-centered care with the Nursing department director. The role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating care in compliance with EverTrue standards and state/federal regulations.

The incumbent will supervise daily nursing staff activities, coordinate schedules, maintain records, participate in QA and infection control, and provide training and leadership to ensure high-quality care across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current LPN license in state of practice.
  • CPR certified.

Summary

In coordination with the Nursing department director, the Nursing Supervisor (LPN) is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident-centered care, to comply with EverTrue quality standards and State & Federal regulations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinates and monitors the daily activities of the nursing staff

  2. Performs duties that may include, but not limited to, staff performance evaluations, determining work assignments and scheduling, medical record documentation, completion of Resident Assessments, and other written reports as required

  3. Meets with the nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the department’s services, programs and activities

  4. Participates in maintaining written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the department

  5. Participates in the maintenance of the facility’s quality assurance program for the department

  6. Participates in survey (inspection) made by authorized government agencies

  7. Provides oversight of, and maintain data related to, the Infection Control Management process

  8. Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the department director as required concerning the operation of the department

  9. Participates in any assigned teams/committees; Implements recommendations from established committees as instructed by the department director

  10. Participates in planning, conducting and scheduling of in-service training classes that provides instructions on “how to do the job”, and ensures as well-educated nursing services department

  11. Develops, implements, and maintains an effective orientation program that orients the new employee to your shift, its policies and procedures, and to his/her job duties

  12. Provides leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for your charge nurses

  13. Monitors nursing personnel to assure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies, are aware of all fire safety and participate in disaster preparedness drills in a safe and professional manner.

  14. Participates in the maintenance of the infection control program for monitoring communicable and/or infectious diseases among the residents and personnel, to include proper hand washing techniques; Participates in the maintenance of the procedures for reporting hazardous conditions of equipment.

  15. Assures that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment and etc, is maintained on premises at all times to adequately meet the needs of the resident, including emergency supplies and medication; Ensures that only trained and authorized personnel operate the department’s equipment

  16. Ensures nursing personnel follow appropriate care plan assessment protocols for resident and that they are used in administering daily care to the resident

  17. Keeps abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommends to the director adjustments in nursing services that ensure the continued ability to provide quality care

  18. Ensures that all nursing service personnel are knowledgeable of the resident rights and responsibilities

  19. Conducts rounds on neighborhood(s)/unit(s) to check on residents and staff to assure appropriate and safe care delivery; Identifies issues or concerns and intervenes when necessary

  20. Upon resident admission, ensures coordination and timely completion of the admission process

  21. Reports and supports investigative protocols as it relates to staff or resident incidents and/or accidents in accordance with state and federal regulations

  22. Complies with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current LPN license in state of practice

  • CPR certified

  • 1+ years’ experience working in a Long-Term Care environment

  • Prior supervisory experience a plus.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must posses the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care. Must have patience, tact, flexibility, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

EverTrue Pay & Benefits

Pay grade: 13, $27.00/hour to $43.25/hour. Eligible for shift differentials: Yes. $2.00/hour evenings; $1.50/hour nights; $1.50/hour weekends (States of IL & MO; May vary in other states)
