Job summary

IGT is seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor II to lead domestic and international transportation operations across FTL, LTL, parcel, air and ocean. You will drive daily execution, strategic planning, and continuous improvement to meet service and cost objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will mentor transportation staff, manage carrier relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, reduce risk, and support global supply chain goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of transportation laws including OSHA and DOT compliance.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate a team.
  • Experience with transportation metrics and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily domestic and international transportation operations across multiple modes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for transportation personnel.
  • Coordinate activities across distribution centers, manufacturing sites, and partners to ensure service and efficiency.
  • Manage carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and 3PLs to meet service, cost and compliance objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs, freight spend and identify trends for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international transportation regulations and customs.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean and continuous improvement methods.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize disruption and ensure supply chain continuity.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and transportation spend management on revenue projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align transportation with business goals and develop organizational capability.

IGT is seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor II to lead and oversee domestic and international transportation operations across multiple transportation modes. This role is responsible for the daily execution, strategic planning and continuous improvement of transportation activities supporting business objectives, customer commitments and operational excellence. The Transportation Supervisor II serves as the primary transportation subject matter expert, providing leadership to transportation personnel while driving carrier performance, transportation cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and service excellence. This position collaborates extensively to ensure efficient and compliant movement of goods globally. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities while managing complex transportation networks, supporting international trade requirements, and leading process improvement initiatives

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily domestic and international transportation operations across FTL, LTL, Small Parcel, Air, Ocean, and multimodal freight networks.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, development and performance management for transportation personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate transportation activities across distribution centers, manufacturing sites, logistics providers, and internal business partners to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Manage relationships and performance of carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, parcel providers and third‑party logistics partners to meet service, cost and compliance objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation KPIs, service metrics, and freight spend to identify trends, implement corrective actions and drive operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international transportation regulations, customs requirements, import/export controls and company policies.
  • Lead transportation process improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, service enhancement, risk mitigation and operational excellence through Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop contingency plans and transportation solutions to minimize business disruption and ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations.
  • Lead transportation support for high‑value revenue projects, critical customer commitments, strategic initiatives, budgeting, forecasting and transportation spend management.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align transportation strategies with business objectives, support workforce development, and build organizational capability through mentoring and succession planning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field or experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of transportation laws and regulations, including OSHA and DOT compliance.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using transportation metrics and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Truckload, Less‑than‑truckload, Air and Ocean transportation modes
Regarded Qualifications
  • SAP experience.
  • Transportation Management System (TMS) experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
  • Knowledge of international trade compliance and customs regulations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and global distribution environments.
