Job description

Under the direction of the Manager, Logistics, the Supervisor, Logistics leads the team and oversees all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, inventory management, issuing, and shipping of materials, supplies, equipment, and parts. Ensures the proper handling and safekeeping of archival documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in planning warehouse layouts—both onsite and offsite—based on item turnover, size, weight, and other storage factors. Coordinates special and periodic inventory schedules. Works closely with the Logistics Manager and Casino/Tribal Accounting to ensure accurate expense tracking through General Ledger (GL) entries. Supports budget analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Coordinates with all departments to ensure timely shipment of finished goods. Transfers and issues inventoried products to Casino/Tribal departments using Lawson, Eatec, or other designated ERP systems. Collaborates with Casino/Tribal management to plan and support projects, including staffing and logistics for special functions.
  • Guides team members on proper care, handling, and preservation of items during receiving, storage, and shipping. Provides instruction on equipment use and handling procedures. Reviews and standardizes operational processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Establishes work procedures, prepares schedules, and streamlines workflow to ensure operational efficiency. Provides written and verbal instructions, assigns tasks, and reviews work for accuracy, organization, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Logistics Manager in evaluating and selecting equipment to meet departmental needs, and ensures all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Ensures a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety procedures. Oversees prompt receipt and proper storage of incoming shipments.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains departmental policies and procedures to support consistent and efficient operations.
  • Executes a cycle count inventory schedule and reconciliation process to maintain inventory accuracy. Assists Casino/Tribal Accounting in investigating purchase order discrepancies and makes necessary adjustments in Lawson, Eatec, or other ERP systems as directed.
  • Oversees team members responsible for cataloging and safeguarding valuable documents, and manages the disposition of fully depreciated materials and equipment. Handles document retrieval and sign-in/out processes for departments. Ensures all products are accurately checked in and inspected against purchase orders, including shipments from UPS and FedEx. Maintains adequate inventory levels based on established thresholds and communicates turnover changes to relevant departments. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carrys out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree in logistics or related field required.
  • Must have minimum of three (3) years office/receiving/warehouse experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word required.
  • Experience working with Eatec/Lawson software preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT
  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
