Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, NE seeks a Lab Supervisor to lead daily operations, develop annual department goals, and manage the budget while driving performance and quality across the laboratory. You will coach staff, communicate effectively, ensure adherence to CLIA standards, and oversee test procedures, quality control, and training.

Prior supervisory experience and ASCP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in bilogical or chemical sciences as defined by CLIA.
• Minimum of 5 years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist or Med Technologist ASCP certification, or related.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
• Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions.
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
• Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics.
• Establishing a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and ensuring analytic performance levels are maintained.
• Identifying training needs and ensuring regular in-service training and education for staff.

• Establishing a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and establishing the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensuring that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results
• Identifying training needs and assuring that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree in bilogical or chemical sciences as defined by CLIA
• Minimum of 5 years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory
• Medical Laboratory Scientist or Med Technologist ASCP certification, or related

Preferred

• 1 Year experience as a supervisor or higher

Pay Range
