Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the laboratory area and ensure accurate diagnostic testing. You will supervise procedures, maintain analyzers, monitor quality control, and ensure specimen collection and supplies meet policy standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field and ASCP certification, with at least 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification required; waiver possible for pre-degree certs.
• Minimum 3 years' clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Other bachelor's degrees will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school and science and math coursework meet requirement of certifying agency. Bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirements by ASCP and a HEW/HSS technologist certified by Health and Human Services.

Work Experience

• 3 years of clinical experience preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) .
