Job summary

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) REES seeks a dynamic Supervisor, Job Generation to lead a small team and advance resident hiring and economic opportunity initiatives across NYCHA contracts and community programs.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Job Generation, you will coordinate large-scale recruitment activities, ensure compliance with HUD Section 3, manage data and reporting, and partner with internal and citywide stakeholders to expand opportunities for residents.

Qualifications

• Leads a team of ~5 staff focused on resident hiring and economic opportunity initiatives.
• Knowledge of HUD Section 3 regulations and NYCHA resident outreach.
• Experience coordinating large-scale recruitment activities in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a team handling NYCHA resident interaction and hiring initiatives.
• Approve Section 3 and other resident hiring initiatives on NYCHA contracts.
• Participate in scoring/review committees related to Real Estate Development and resident outreach.
• Lead coordination of large-scale resident employment recruitment activities at NYCHA facilities.
• Support Recruitment Coordinators in engaging NYCHA residents and stakeholders to communicate Section 3 requirements.
• Utilize databases for tracking outcomes and generate reports on vendor and resident referrals.
• Lead team meetings and provide supervision and coaching to staff.
• Provide post-training placement support for youth programs and workforce initiatives.
• Oversee summer youth employment program initiatives in collaboration with DYCD.
• Represent NYCHA on city-wide committees and external stakeholder meetings regarding resident engagement and workforce development.
