The role of the JLL Supervisor, Janitorial Services is to ensure the proper operation & performance of all aspects of a comprehensive sanitation program in both a manufacturing and administrative environment to validate all hourly staff is performing their job to standards. Always presents themselves in a professional appearance and manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review previous shift End of Shift (EOS) report. Annotates any items that carryover and develop a plan of action.
- Conduct beginning of shift brief:
- Assign personnel to their routes
- Assign personnel to their required equipment
- Conduct safety brief
- Submit beginning of shift report to PM
- Ensure all personnel assigned to equipment conduct pre and post operation checks to assigned equipment.
- Runs the floor throughout the entire shift:
- Flex employees to address any hot spots, absences, etc.
- Deploy emergency response clean up as needed via the radio.
- Audit routes assessing employee cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the shift (using Corrigo).
- Report incidents and hazards to JLL / Safety leadership.
- Spot check employee PPE requirements.
- Fill in on the floor as needed due to gaps.
- Review and understand JLL policies and procedures.
- Review and understand janitorial vendor policies and procedures.
- Review UAW policies and procedures.
- Review and train on Lock-Out safety process.
- Ensure all staff are aware of the Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Understand and train all employees on proper chemical usage and PPE requirements.
- Train on all assigned equipment within their area and understand how to do basic preventive maintenance (PM).
- Train employees on general and plant housekeeping program via Task Instruction Sheets (TIS).
- Build rapport with area ME (Maintenance Engineer) and area leadership.
- Report supplies usage to be ordered.
- Supervise all cleaning staff focusing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behavior while on duty.
- Understand the importance of the recycling program and push those requirements to the employees.
- Develop plans for compression work or shutdown.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities for the following Support
- Establish cleaning standards and procedures for workers and ensure adherence to the TIS standards and procedures.
- Coach and develop employees (cleaners).
- Schedule and assign specific duties/roles to cleaners and ensure they are carried out expertly.
- Inspect cleaning equipment on a regular basis to validate equipment readiness and request maintenance support as needed.
- Control and monitor the usage of cleaning materials to avoid or minimize waste and/or misuse.
- Provide any form of required assistance to cleaners while they carry out their duties.

Education / Experience Requirements
- Previous Management experience required
- Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
