Job summary

NASIC (National Air and Space Intelligence Center) seeks a first-level supervisor for the Track & Profiling Flight to plan, direct, and control operations, ensuring timely, compliant OPIR analysis production.

You will mentor nonsupervisory staff, coordinate with customers and other agencies, and uphold safety and security standards while advancing GEOINT objectives and analytic methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of overhead persistent infrared analysis principles and reporting mechanisms.
  • Understanding of AF/DoD/National doctrine, policies, and guidelines relevant to NASIC projects.
  • Familiarity with GEOINT workflows and OPIR objectives in production environments.
  • Knowledge of performance management concepts and evaluating employee performance.
  • Awareness of safety and security regulations for small to medium organizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Track & Profiling Flight.

Duties
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a production flight of the Persistent Infrared Analysis Squadron, ensuring that Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) analysis production complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer-needs.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Represents OPIR production with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with NASIC customers, national operational, policymaker, and acquisition communities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology of overhead persistent infrared analysis, intelligence processes, techniques, sources and reporting mechanisms required for the production of intelligence assessments within the Persistent Infrared Analysis Squadron (NASIC/GSP).
  • Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, DoD, and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
  • Knowledge of various activities and organizational arrangement, to include Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), and Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) objectives; and skill in providing analytic direction and guide development of new concepts and techniques incorporating existing agency guidelines, regulations, and directions in the GEOINT analysis production area.
  • Knowledge of performance management concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, monitoring, rating, and rewarding employee performance; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance.
  • Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; and ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
