How can you make an impact?

McGraw Hill, a leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is seeking a Supervisor, Instructional Designer, 6-12 ELA. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of Instructional Designers and Associate Instructional Designers, collaborating with cross-functional teams including content, product management, UX, and creative media. You will oversee the development of innovative digital tools, curriculum, and learning solutions, ensuring they meet product requirements and are impactful for educators and students.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work in the United States. It is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 07/31/2026.

What you will be doing:
  • Build bridges across teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Mentor team members, providing feedback and guidance to support their growth.
  • Promote an inclusive environment valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Drive talent management initiatives for current and future success.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and leverage external networks.
  • Maintain relationships with senior leaders and colleagues to align efforts.
  • Encourage a culture of creativity and experimentation.
  • Supervise a team of Instructional Designers to create impactful educational content.
  • Oversee external vendors, ensuring quality and alignment with project goals.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to develop digital programs from start to finish.
  • Make decisions to optimize resources and manage operational initiatives.
  • Use external insights to improve products and services, addressing customer needs.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in digital content development related to teaching and learning materials.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with authoring tools, LMS, and content management systems.
  • Ability to create animated and interactive content.
  • Previous 6-12 teaching experience is a plus.
