SUMMARYThis position is responsible for oversight of the Information Technology (IT) department to enhance the functionality of the EHR/PM software used by Children’s Clinics, including direct supervision of Analysts and Administrators. This professional will be responsible and the point person for working directly with internal and external clients, including all levels of management, information technology professionals, product end users and other key stakeholders.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDirectly manages all IT team members, operational and clinical users and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to review and understand customer requirements and specifications; clarify program intent; define and resolve issues; modify appropriate templates or documents to suit custom workflows or client needs; suggest changes; develop appropriate templates and software to suit custom workflows or client needsLeads small to large sized projects or initiatives. Chair/Lead of IT Steering Committee (to determine high priority task to focus on as IT department)Understands the business/clinical strategy of a particular area and proactively works with customers to define the necessary information needed to drive improvementSupports and troubleshoot system architecture, database and performance as well as other aspects of the NextGen application at a high level with support of System AnalystDirect lead as it relates to relationships with external vendors, to include contract negotiation and terms of agreement working directly with Chief Financial OfficerPerform other duties as required and assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of healthcare information systems, business and clinical operations, requirements analysis, and the functionality of core applicationsKnowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., The Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC guidelines, etc.)Demonstrated proficiency in technical and professional competencies, with the ability to rapidly acquire and integrate new knowledge to support the Clinic’s evolving IT landscapeSkill in data analytics, problem-solving, and critical thinking to assess system performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvementsAbility to evaluate, document, and present recommendations for the selection, implementation, and optimization of vendor products that align with the Clinic’s operational and patient care needsAbility to provide technical guidance and support to clinical and administrative staff, including interpreting technical specifications and troubleshooting system issuesAbility to stay informed about emerging healthcare technologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, applying relevant advancements to enhance operational efficiency and patient careSolving complex problems, make data-driven decisions that align with organizational priorities and long-term objectivesAdept at building trust, facilitating collaboration, and aligning with organizational goals through strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to inspire, lead, and motivate teams by cultivating professionalism, shared commitment, and high performance; Ability to provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management.Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures for department specific processesAbility to de-escalate difficult situations and ensure a high level of patient satisfactionAbility to manage resource allocation within a department-specific budgetAbility to maintain confidentiality of patient, personnel, and corporate dataAbility to effectively manage time with a proven ability to meet deadlines; organization and attention to detailAbility to operate personal computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and other office equipment with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software skillsEducation:Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in management information systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredExperience:Two or more year’s supervisor related experience in healthcare delivery setting requiredTwo or more year’s professional software support and development experience with NextGen EHR/PM or other healthcare application preferredLicenses and Certificates:None requiredAGE OF PATIENTS ATTENDED BY EMPLOYEE IN THIS POSITIONCheck all that apply:_X_N/A ___ Neonatal (newborn) ___ Pediatric (birth-13) ___ Young Adult (14-21) ___ Adult (21-65)FINGERPRINT CLEARANCEEmployees are required to maintain a current Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
