In this role, you will help shape the daily work of your Park District by planning, coordinating, and supporting the operations that keep our parks thriving year-round. As a Supervisor II (SDA), you will guide staff development, communicate project priorities, uphold core values, and ensure essential administrative work runs smoothly. With a mix of natural areas, active recreation spaces, and trail systems to care for in every season, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining vibrant parks that serve the entire community.

The Operations Team is made up of approximately 180 full‑time staff and over 100 temporary employees, all supporting a wide range of services that provide meaningful experiences at every level of the organization. Being a part of the Operations Section means you get to experience this work firsthand through supporting maintenance staff while also coordinating with community partners and outside organizations to accomplish our goals.

Physical Requirements: Ability to traverse uneven surfaces in all weather conditions.
Workplace Exposures: This position requires the ability to work inside/outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, inclement weather while at various heights and/or within confined spaces, at all Parks facilities and other adverse conditions such as high-volume noise, dust and heavy traffic.
Manages Complexity: Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
Manages Conflict: Ability to handle conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.
Interpersonal Savvy: Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.

Experience coordinating and working to support large-scale community events.
