Job summary

Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel seeks a Supervisor, Housekeeping to oversee day-to-day Hotel housekeeping operations under the direction of the Assistant Manager. You’ll monitor service standards, coordinate room turnover, and work with other departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Requirements include an Associate degree, 2+ years in housekeeping, 1+ year in a leadership role, and strong communication.

  • Lead day-to-day housekeeping operations under the Assistant Manager.

  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness and maintenance compliance; supervise training.
  • Oversee inventory of supplies and proper chemical usage.
  • Perform regular inspections of rooms and public areas for Forbes/brand standards.

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Housekeeping/Hotel, the Supervisor, Housekeepingis responsible foroverseeing day-to-day operations within the Department.Focuses onmaintainingand improving theHousekeepingservices and operations of the Hotel.Works closely with the Assistant Manager, Housekeeping/Hotel by overseeing the Department’s service and standards to be in line with Forbes standards and enterprise policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • AssistsAssistant Manager, Housekeeping/Hotel in leading allHousekeepingoperations.Assistsin monitoring and evaluating all daily departmental activities for assigned team members to ensure successful day-to-day management of operations.Works collaboratively with other Hotel departments to ensure seamless customer service and quality performance of team members.Assistswith assignment/distribution of room assignments and work duties.Coordinates scheduling and completion of deep cleaning and related assigned projects.Ensurestimelyand efficient execution of guest room turnover as defined by service standardsestablishedbyHotelmanagement.Ensures adherence toHoteland enterprise brand standards at all times.
  • Keeps up to date on health and safety policies and procedures and ensures all team members consistently meet standards of safety,cleanlinessand maintenance throughoutDepartment, including ensuring all required certificationsremaincurrent. Responsible for regular inspections ofHotelto ensure adherence toestablishedcleanliness and maintenance standards.Ensuresproper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, confirming complete training for team members, and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous suppliesin accordance withfederal, state, local, and enterprise regulations.Ensuresall equipment ismaintainedand used accordingly.Ensures essential equipment, parts, and chemicals are on hand for team members, are properlyidentifiedand labeled according to SDS, and are in safe and proper working condition while beingutilizedbefore projects begin (i.e.hard hats, back braces, safety glasses, etc.).Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies,stockroomsand carts.
  • Maintains consistent Forbes Travel Guide standards by conducting daily inspections of corridors,closetsand rooms (suites,VIP’sand site rooms).Performs routine inspections of all check out rooms and spot checks of all occupied rooms.Inspectsall vacant clean rooms and releases in system as ready for occupancy.Completes daily scored inspections for all Room Attendants with minimum of 1 occupied and 1 vacant room per team member incorrespondingsection.InspectsHouse Person sections and landing closets daily and provides scores.Monitorsreport status and discrepancy of rooms.(5%)
  • Oversees and contributes toenvironmentwhich motivates team members to collaborate, learn, perform, and develop their skills.Oversees a diverse team of well-trained team members by leading by example, empowering, sharing knowledge, and coaching throughout employment lifecycle.Provides guidance and training to Housekeeping Team Members to achieve performance standards.
  • Coordinates and communicates withFacilitiesDepartment for repair of guest rooms and public areas (guest & service landings, corridors, guest elevators).Reports andfollows-up on any maintenance defects or other issues to ensure all maintenance requestspertaining toguest rooms and departmental equipment are addressed in an efficient manner.
  • Assistswith departmental issues in collaboration with Housekeeping Assistant Manager on courses of action to improve and/or enhance overall Department performance.
  • Assistswith administering lost and foundprogram.Assists with VIP and other special requests.Maintains professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Responsible for carrying a radio and wearing anear piecediscretely to communicate.Maintains ability to perform all essential duties listed under Housekeeper and HousePersonjob descriptions andassistswith job duties as needed for efficient Department operations.
  • Performsotherdutiesasassignedtosupporttheefficientoperationofthedepartment.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

Education, Experience And Qualifications
  • Associates Degreeisrequired.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Housekeeping, Janitorial, Custodial, or related fieldrequired; within an upscale hotel strongly preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a role leading and coaching others to meet and exceed standards is preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (ksa)
  • Good verbal and written communication skillsrequired.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and productivity levels.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Outlook, Word,Exceland property maintenancesystem.
  • Proven supervisory problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability toidentifyand prioritize issues, delegating asappropriate, to drive to measurable results.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment
  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents maybe requiredto work evening,weekendand holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter,exitandoperatea motor vehiclein the course oftravel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, tradeshowsand San Manuel properties.
