Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a Supervisor, Gas Operations to lead daily gas construction and service crews, ensuring safe, compliant operations in line with collective bargaining agreements. The role emphasizes safety leadership, productivity, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities include scheduling and directing crews, enforcing safety rules, and driving continuous improvement across the gas distribution function, with a focus on cost control and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience (gas distribution, construction, maintenance, planning, project management, analysis and/or design) required OR five or more years in heavy industry/utility supervision including at least three years gas experience.
• Proficiency with general computer skills and basic knowledge of TRIS, OAS, and DOJM systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and evaluate crews engaged in construction and maintenance of the gas distribution system, with clear performance expectations.
• Schedule, assign and direct the workforce safely and efficiently, coordinating with customers, contractors and other departments; manage overtime and tracking of work, time, and materials.
• Consistently enforce safety rules and HR policies across crews and projects.
• Contribute to division goals and implement improvements to control costs and boost productivity.

About The Position

The Supervisor, Gas Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the gas construction and/or service crews, and the management of their work in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements. Their work also includes the daily enforcement of safety rules, HR policies, and resolution of employee conflict and customer complaints.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and evaluate individuals and crews engaged in the construction and maintenance of the gas distribution system. Provide clear expectations for their performance.
• Schedule, assign, and direct the workforce in a safe, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with the limitations of any applicable collective bargaining agreements. Manage overtime. Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, and other company departments. Monitor to ensure timely completion. Efficiently utilize company systems related to work tracking, time reporting, and materials management.
• Consistently enforce all safety rules and conduct Co-worker to Co-worker Observations with individuals and crews. Consistently enforce HR policies with individuals and crews.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of division and function goals. Identify and implement improvements in division operations to control costs and improve productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience (e.g., journeyman in gas distribution, construction or maintenance, planning, project management, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems) required OR five or more years of experience in heavy industrial, construction, utility or supervision including a minimum of three years relevant gas experience (e.g., journeyman in gas distribution, construction or maintenance; planning, project management, analysis and/or design of gas distribution systems) or supervisory experience required.
• In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Proficiency with general computer skills preferred. Basic knowledge of TRIS, OAS, and DOJM systems preferred.

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $107,500.00 - $166,600.00 At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
