Job summary

Jet Aviation is seeking a Fuel Farm Supervisor to lead 24/7 aviation-fuel storage, testing, and distribution operations at Teterboro. You will supervise Fuel Farm Leads and Technicians, manage shifts, ensure inspections, and maintain inventory records in a safety-sensitive environment.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and in-depth knowledge of fuel handling, testing, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical training in aviation, petroleum operations, maintenance, logistics, safety, or related field preferred.
• Three+ years in aviation fueling, Fuel Farm operations, petroleum storage and distribution, fuel-quality control, or related safety-sensitive operation.
• One+ years of lead, supervisory, training, or work-coordination experience preferred.
• Knowledge of aviation-fuel receipt, storage, sampling, testing, transfer, inventory reconciliation, filtration, and equipment-inspection requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard business software and electronic inspection, inventory, scheduling, or recordkeeping systems.
• Must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to obtain an Airport ID Badge and required qualifications.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and irregular operations.

Position Summary

The Fuel Farm Supervisor is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient daily operation of Jet Aviation Teterboro's aviation-fuel storage, quality-control, inventory, and distribution functions.

This position provides direct supervision to Fuel Farm Leads and Fuel Farm Technicians, establishes daily work priorities, verifies completion of required inspections and testing, and maintains operational accountability for fuel receipts, storage, transfers, inventory records, equipment condition, and shift handoffs.

The Supervisor works closely with the Assistant Manager - GSE & Fuel Farm, Line Service shift leadership, the Ramp Communications Center, Safety/EHS, Training, Facilities, fuel suppliers, airport representatives, and third-party vendors to maintain fuel quality, audit readiness, emergency preparedness, and uninterrupted operational support.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Jet Aviation Teterboro formally operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. This position may require evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and additional coverage during peak traffic, severe weather, special events, ground stops, ramp congestion, or other irregular operations.

The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range for this non-exempt position will be as follows: $32.00 - $33.00 hourly which is equivalent to $66,560 - $68,640 annually, plus a performance-based bonus.

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical training in aviation, petroleum operations, maintenance, logistics, safety, or a related field is preferred.
• Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in aviation fueling, Fuel Farm operations, petroleum storage and distribution, fuel-quality control, or a closely related safety-sensitive operation.
• One or more years of lead, supervisory, training, or work-coordination experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of aviation-fuel receipt, storage, sampling, testing, transfer, inventory reconciliation, filtration, and equipment-inspection requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead employees, assign work, establish priorities, verify task completion, address performance concerns, and maintain accountability across multiple shifts.
• Experience maintaining accurate quality-control, safety, inspection, inventory, training, preventive-maintenance, and discrepancy records.
• Ability to evaluate fuel-quality or equipment concerns, stop an unsafe operation, elevate issues appropriately, and coordinate timely corrective action.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to communicate effectively with employees, leadership, drivers, suppliers, airport representatives, inspectors, and vendors.
• Proficiency with standard business software and electronic inspection, inventory, scheduling, or recordkeeping systems.
• Must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a driving record that meets company and airport requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision, direction, and accountability for Fuel Farm Leads and Fuel Farm Technicians in support of a continuous 24-hour aviation operation.
• Assign shift responsibilities, establish priorities, monitor workload, verify task completion, and ensure formal handoffs of fuel inventory, equipment status, safety concerns, open discrepancies, deliveries, and required follow-up.
• Support employee scheduling, attendance management, timecard review, overtime control, onboarding, coaching, training, qualification tracking, performance feedback, and development in coordination with the Assistant Manager and Human Resources.
• Ensure the safe receipt, storage, testing, transfer, inventory control, and distribution of aviation fuel in accordance with company procedures, supplier standards, airport requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Review and verify fuel-delivery documentation, product acceptance testing, fuel samples, tank readings, filter data, differential-pressure readings, sump results, and required quality-control records.
• Ensure required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and event-driven Fuel Farm inspections and tests are completed accurately and within established timeframes.
• Maintain accountability for tank inventory, fuel receipts, transfers, usage records, meter readings, and daily reconciliations; investigate and report unexplained inventory variances or documentation errors.
• Oversee the condition and readiness of Fuel Farm tanks, pumps, valves, meters, filters, piping, containment areas, loading systems, hydrant systems, fuel trucks, and associated safety equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, filter work, meter service, repairs, parts, and vendor support; ensure unsafe equipment is properly tagged out and not returned to service until corrected.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper documentation, including required NDX records, inspection logs, test results, inventory records, training records, repair histories, corrective actions, and supplier documentation.
• Prepare the Fuel Farm for internal reviews, fuel-supplier inspections, customer audits, airport or environmental inspections, and other regulatory or compliance activities; promptly address findings.
• Promote and enforce personal protective equipment, fire-protection, bonding or grounding, lockout/tagout, equipment tag-out, spill-response, housekeeping, and other safe-work requirements.

• Support JetSafe and the Safety Management System through hazard identification, risk assessment, incident and near-miss reporting, investigation support, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Support Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure and Stormwater Pollution Prevention requirements and maintain Fuel Farm spill kits, containment systems, emergency equipment, and response readiness.
• Lead the initial operational response to fuel-quality concerns, spills, leaks, alarms, equipment failures, weather events, power interruptions, and other irregularities; make required notifications and elevate promptly.
• Monitor fuel inventory and anticipated demand, coordinate deliveries and supplier activity, and notify leadership of supply risks, delays, inventory concerns, or operational constraints.
• Coordinate fuel and equipment priorities with Line Service shift leadership and the Ramp Communications Center during peak traffic, severe weather, ramp congestion, special events, and irregular operations.
• Provide the Assistant Manager and senior operational leadership with timely updates regarding staffing, fuel inventory, equipment condition, quality-control status, audit findings, safety risks, vendor activity, and recommended solutions.
• Conduct shift briefings, safety discussions, on-the-job observations, and recurrent training; verify that employees remain qualified and follow approved procedures.
• Represent Jet Aviation professionally and consistently while promoting a respectful, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture.
• Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
