Job description

Job Title: Supervisor Food Services

The Supervisor Food Services manages staff in the department to ensure the delivery of high-quality food service. Responsibilities include verifying that trays contain accurate ingredients and portions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency standards, training employees, and documenting their development. The role also involves maintaining proper labeling, dating, and storage protocols in storage areas, creating cleaning schedules, and inspecting adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assign, supervise, and evaluate nutrition service employees, including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  2. Ensure timely and efficient meal service by following opening and closing checklists, maintaining documentation, staffing appropriately, and ensuring food presentation standards.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Infection Control, Health Department, The Joint Commission) and department policies, as evidenced by inspections and audits.
  4. Review and monitor daily cleaning assignments.
  5. Inspect walk-in coolers, freezers, and reach-ins for proper labeling, dating, and storage.
  6. Provide employee training and ongoing development, maintaining comprehensive documentation for monitoring progress and participation.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 3-5 years of food service supervisory experience
  • Licensure/Certification: ServSafe Certification required within one year of hire, renewed every 5 years
