Serves as and responsible for all aspects of the assigned DC food safety and food quality management systems, including achieving and maintaining highest level of GFSI accreditation for food safety and quality, Food Safety Plan, cGMP, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls. Assist facility and corporate leadership in creating strategic directions and priorities for continued improvement for food safety and quality.

Manage food safety and quality standards and practices for the assigned distribution center. Identify and influence food safety and quality education and training needs. Maintain technical and process-related programs and tools to address education and training needs. Effectively integrate food safety and quality compliance prevention into day-to-day operations at multiple levels and functional areas within the Company.

Provide direct oversite and manage all aspects of the pest control program and sanitation programs within the facility, including trailer sanitation and reclaim areas.

  • Champion and cultivate a product safety culture with DC leadership driving continuous improvement opportunities cross-functionally to strengthen compliance w/GFSI requirements
  • Responsible for leading and updating campus food safety and quality programs to maintain annual GFSI accreditation
  • Manage and support existing food safety and quality programs and emerging priorities across entire campus (warehouse, transportation, reclaim, etc.)
  • Manage food safety and quality training programs to ensure governmental compliance.
  • Train and coach associates and management regarding food safety and quality programs.

Sanitation and Pest Control Programs:

  • Role is responsible for end-to-end program controls, monitoring effectiveness, verifications and recordkeeping accuracy for: 1. Sanitation Team, 2. Master Sanitation Schedule, 3. Trailer Sanitation, 4. PCO Relationship, and 5. Reclaim
  • Conduct audits of facilities to ensure General Food Safety (GFSI) compliance
  • Lead annual compliance with GFSI requirements and lead role with recertification audits
  • Partner with internal and external business partners at various levels of the organization.
  • Conduct training for associates and management related to Food Safety and Environmental.
  • Maintain and coordinate campus food defense program.
  • Other food safety or quality tasks as assigned

Weekly:

  • Personal Hygiene
  • Coordinate Building and Grounds Maintenance Poor Conditions
  • Sanitation: Building, Trailers and Compactors
  • Oversee: Pest Control Management & Documentation
  • Food Safety Training: New Hire and Sanitary Transportation for Drivers

Monthly

  • Conduct Warehouse GMP Audits
  • Launch Corrective Actions for GMP Findings
  • Conduct Monthly Sanitation Verifications
  • Document Control: GFSI/IFS Binders, QA, Recalls, Calibration Records, COAs, Supplier/Vendor Surveys,
  • Work Order

Annual

  • Perform Assigned GFSI Internal Audits
  • Lead GFSI Re-Cert Audit for Respective DC
  • GFSI/NSF Corrective Actions Closures
  • Annual GMP Refresher Training
  • Conduct Food Defense/Food Fraud Exercise
  • CFPM Instructor/Proctor as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong coaching, training and motivational skills: ability to lead
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Valid driver's license
  • Achieves GFSI certification
  • Maintains food manager certification
  • Achieve FSMA Preventative Controls for Human Food Accreditation
