Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated seeks a Facilities Supervisor to oversee maintenance and EVS teams across Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel. You will coordinate projects, schedule staff, supervise preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance across all facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Five years of experience as electrician, plumber, HVAC mechanic, grounds, welder, machinist, or EVS position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects with the Director and Manager of Facilities.
• Prepare weekly team member schedules based on forecasted workloads.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Assign and inspect janitorial duties to staff to meet standards.
• Oversee facilities cleaning across all areas including RV Park, Amphitheater, and on-site buildings.
• Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment; develop cost estimates.
• Schedule and follow up on maintenance issues with vendors and staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and report deficiencies.

Oak Grove: Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a newer facility in a high traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Ft. Campbell. The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.

JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Supervisor will supervise, coordinate, and assist the work of the maintenance and EVS Team Members in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the facilities building, systems, and grounds. The Facilities Supervisor must have knowledge of and be able to complete tasks in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, energy conservation, and/or general building maintenance and EVS cleaning duties. #OakGrove

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Director and Manager of Facilities in coordinating projects and scheduling work.
• Prepare weekly team member schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
• Schedule and, when needed, personally perform preventive maintenance and repair duties on all building mechanical systems, equipment, and tools. Ensure work is completed on time.
• Assign janitorial duties to staff and regularly inspect their work to ensure that established standards are met.
• Schedule and, when needed, personally perform Facilities cleaning, gaming floor, banquet hall, conference rooms, and floor cleaning and waxing. This includes all facilities on site: RV Park, Amphitheater, Equestrian Center, Maintenance Building, ONS, and RDS.
• Ensure all inventory, supplies, and equipment are maintained and properly stored.
• Develop cost estimates for requested projects.
• Schedule and follow up on all maintenance and EVS issues, whether with outside vendors or with inside staff, utilizing a computerized maintenance management program.
• Responsible for compliance with applicable codes and inspection and reporting of deficiencies throughout the property.
• Effectively report and correct unsafe work practices or unsafe property conditions.
• Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications and process changes to help improve safety and reliability.
• Communicate with guests/customers to resolve facility issues.
• Participate in interviews and hiring of new facilities maintenance and EVS Team Members.
• Complete timely performance evaluations for subordinates.
• Coordinate formal and informal training for subordinates.
• Conduct formal and informal coaching and counseling with subordinates.
• Able to read and evaluate blueprints.
• Prepare for and conduct pre-shift huddles
• Participate regularly in squads and management team huddles.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required. Trade school training is preferred.
• Required 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Required 5 years of experience as an electrician, plumber, HVAC mechanic, ground support, welder, and machinist or EVS position.
• Must possess proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
