Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years facilities management experience.
  • Current refrigeration/trade licenses required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, delegate and control the work process.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned staff and subcontractors; plans schedules and work allocations.
  • Leads on-site project teams and may be the customer contact on site.
  • Plans service delivery and provides hands-on support and training to staff and contractors.
  • Responds to emergency calls and coordinates with police/fire for property protection.
  • Keeps safety/environmental records; ensures PPE compliance.
  • Performs monthly safety walks and coordinates safety topics with the Site Safety Technician.
  • Interprets blueprints, SOPs, OMs manuals and specs for standardization of work.
  • Covers defined shifts and ensures contract compliance.

Job Summary

The Facilities Supervisor oversees the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role is responsible for supervising the troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of mechanical components and electrical equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturer specifications, and safety guidelines. The Facilities Supervisor manages and secures inventory of tools and spare parts, and recommends the purchase of equipment and supplies to enhance efficiency. Additionally, this role supports engineers in developing and refining methods and procedures to improve facility operations and performance.

Essential Duties
  • Serves as a working supervisor for assigned personnel, providing guidance on daily tasks. Develops work schedules, ensuring compliance with company policies. Monitors the performance of assigned staff, including subcontractors. Collaborates with managers on disciplinary matters and conducts performance management discussions.
  • Serves as a leader on the project and may be the point of contact for customers on site.
  • Plans and supervises service delivery to customers, providing hands-on support and training to direct reports, client staff, and contractors. Responds promptly to facility service requests and ensures thorough evaluation of repairs and maintenance.
  • Responds to emergency calls, working with the police, fire, and emergency service crews to protect company property and employees.
  • Keeps records of safety, health and environmental issues each working day. Ensures the work crew follows all company and customer safety practices and fully utilizes the assigned Personal Protective Equipment each work day.
  • Performs a monthly quality and safety walk-through of the entire site with a customer direct report or as needed. Works with the designated Site Safety Technician to initiate safety topics and ensure bi-weekly safety meetings are conducted and that the required attendance sheets are completed and on file.
  • Reads and provides interpretations to all compliance requirements, blueprints, schematics, O&M manuals and specifications to ensure standardization of work.
  • Covers defined shifts and performs maintenance and operational duties as required to assure contract compliance.
Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED required as a foundation for success in this role.

Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management or related field is a plus.

Current universal refrigeration license and/or other trade licenses as required.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in facilities management or a related field.

Demonstrated track record as a Facilities Supervisor or in a similar role.

Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Ability to effectively plan, organize, delegate and control the work process.

Good analytical/critical thinking.
