Job Overview
The Supervisor Environmental Services (EVS) reports to the Manager/Director of the Environmental Services Department. This role involves planning, organizing, scheduling, and supervising department activities on each shift to ensure the facility maintains a positive first impression by adhering to regulatory, system, and departmental policies. The supervisor will conduct campus rounds, assign special projects, and ensure all staff complete their daily tasks effectively, supporting infection prevention protocols. Responsibilities also include staff evaluations, interviewing, training, development, and implementing corrective actions.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide strong support and effective leadership, coordinating services within the department and with other hospital departments.
- Meet departmental and facility goals.
- Offer ongoing feedback, recognition, counseling, and coaching to team members.
- Conduct midyear and annual staff evaluations.
- Lead team huddles and meetings.
- Perform tasks alongside EVS technicians and conduct competency assessments.
Quality & Safety
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and oversee daily work quality and quantity.
- Inspect, correct, coach, and train staff for competency and development.
- Maintain Wellstar Health System standards and support PI projects.
Customer Service
- Ensure consistent use of AIDET scripting and support patient/internal/external satisfaction tools.
- Utilize interpersonal skills for service recovery and exceptional patient experience.
Financial Stewardship
- Manage supplies and equipment efficiently, ensuring proper disposal and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred; two years of college preferred.
- Certifications required upon hire; CHEST preferred.
- Minimum one year as a lead or coordinator in healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning; or two years in a staff role in similar fields.
- Skills include leadership, communication, regulatory compliance, equipment use, and customer service scripting.
