Williams in Houston is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a diverse team of engineers and professionals in support of operations. You will drive reliability, safety, and compliance across pipeline assets while coordinating with internal and external partners.

The role demands a PE and ABET-accredited degree with extensive leadership, PLC and control-system expertise, and hands-on startup and commissioning ability in energy facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field from ABET-accredited college or university.
  • PE license and 8+ years multifaceted engineering experience in energy/petrochemical.
  • Experience leading engineers, project managers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team to improve operability, maintainability, and reliability of assets.
  • Serves as liaison with business development, operations, and external partners.
  • Supervises third-party project managers, inspectors, and contractors.
  • Participates in planning, commissioning, and start-up of new facilities.
  • Oversees PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control narratives.
  • Manages workforce planning, budgeting, and scheduling with safety focus.

This role will encourage safe operations, while influencing decisions that improve the reliability and operability of our pipeline systems and will serve as a specialist in the field for meaningful organizational programs and initiatives.## **Responsibilities/Expectations:*** Leads the team in efforts to improve operability, maintainability, and reliability of existing assets within Operations; ensures all work performed is in strict accordance with policies and procedures* Serves as a contact point for business development, commercial development, and operations; develops and maintains effective relationships with internal/external business partners* Supervises project activities of third party project managers, consulting engineers, construction inspectors, and contractors* Participates in planning, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities* Supervises the utilization of computer modeling and data analysis tools to aid in the evaluation, justification, and development of solutions to problems and/or opportunities* Provides technical support to all functional departments as part of troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, optimization, start-up, and turnarounds* Coordinates workforce planning and career development for team members* Manages costs through accurate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling with a focus on safety, high reliability, environmental and regulatory compliance* Other duties as assigned## **Education/Years of Experience:*** Required: Required: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a minimum of eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas, petrochemical, or related industry. a minimum of six (6) years of engineering experience* Preferred: Previous leadership experience; PE Certification## **Other Requirements:*** Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority* Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and PC skills* Ability to analyze, develop and implement process improvements, documentation and reports* Experience in three or more of the following areas: Operations, Design, Engineering, Project Management, Business Development, Construction, Environmental or Front-line Supervision* Must remain technically engaged and capable of independently performing PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.* Ability to lead complex control system troubleshooting efforts during facility startup, outages, and upset conditions.* Experience reviewing and approving PLC logic changes, HMI modifications, alarm philosophies, and control narratives.* Demonstrated expertise performing field investigations and developing practical corrective actions for control system issues.* Experience supporting both growth and maintenance capital project execution* Ability to serve as the technical authority for automation scope during detailed design, construction, and commissioning* Experience coordinating automation resources across multiple projects and geographic regions.* Demonstrated ability to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies related to controls and commissioning##Big career opportunities in one of the world's energy capitals, endless food spots and a diverse vibe - all without paying NYC or LA prices.
