Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a Supervisor Electrical Maintenance for the Morenci Mill in Arizona.

You will supervise the safe operation of an assigned maintenance unit, coordinate staff, and oversee production plans while ensuring safety and efficiency across the site. The role requires a supervisory background, either via a high school diploma with 5 years of experience or a technical degree with internship exposure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of related supervisory/lead experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a mining-related field with at least one internship, including supervisory or lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
• Review the work of staff, implement production plans, and manage daily operational duties.
• Inspect and evaluate progress, identify problems, and direct remedial action.
• Prepare staffing, materials, and equipment estimates; maintain inventories and approve purchases.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets; perform related duties as required.

Title: Supervisor Electrical Maintenance - Morenci Mill

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, you supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. In this role, you assign, supervise, and review the work of staff. You implement production plans according to approved schedules and participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks as needed. As a Supervisor of Maintenance, you inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action. You conduct performance evaluations, prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment, and maintain inventories and approve purchases. You also manage time, materials, and equipment use reports, train staff in safety procedures, maintain safety data sheets, and perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$87,500 - $120,000.This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
