Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic safety and environmental ambassador to oversee EHS initiatives and lead inspections across the park. You will coordinate training, maintain records, and work with park leadership to ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and the ability to manage diverse duties. Applicants should have OSHA 10 certification and be willing to travel within the park operations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations is preferred.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 General Industry, and hazardous materials awareness preferred
  • Ability to recognize basic safe practices and interpret laws applicable to safety/environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Safety and/or Environmental team.
  • Work with department leadership on EHS initiatives.
  • Oversee the completion of the monthly safety training.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Must be willing to instruct all EHS trainings.
  • Review training presentations and programs; updated as needed.
  • Trend and present safety related data to leadership.
  • Oversee park safety/environmental inspections.
  • Conduct and lead safety walks with park leadership.
  • Assist with inspections and sampling events.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections to maintain safety/environmental compliance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you get to do:

You’ll help ensure compliance with all relevant company, local, state, and federal occupational safety standards. This will involve managing safety, general liability, workers’ compensation initiatives and supervising health and safety teams. You will also participate in inspections, inventory, and collection of data concerning: Potable, Non-Potable Water, Storm, and Waste Water, Pesticide storage, handling, and use, Hazardous chemicals/waste, Universal/Medical waste, Air quality, Storage tanks, Solid waste and Recyclables, Spill Control, Fire Suppression Systems and others as requested by the Safety and Risk Manager.

You will:

What it takes to succeed:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations preferred
  • Completion of OSHA 10 General Industry, and hazardous materials awareness preferred
  • Ability to recognize basic safe practices applications and interpret laws/regulations as applicable to safety/environmental compliance and park operations.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility to perform varied duties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with high aptitude for computer software systems
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to handle multiple and varied tasks in a team environment.
  • Physically able to walk distances, climb stairs, bend, and lift objects of various weights up to 50bs.
  • Ability to positively interact with park guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Assist with inspections and sampling events.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections to maintain safety/environmental compliance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What else is important:
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
  • Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
