Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Divisional Training Supervisor is responsible for the development, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the division's training program, ensuring all manufacturing personnel are competent, productive, and compliant. This role directly manages the Technical and NEOP Trainers, overseeing curriculum development, program execution, and performance tracking. Additionally, they own the manufacturing skills matrices to guarantee strict compliance with aerospace regulations (e.g., AS9100) and customer contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of their supporting staff, including the NEOP Trainer and the Technical Trainers.
  • Guide the NEOP Trainer on curriculum development, adult learning methodologies, and effective classroom/hands-on execution.
  • Design and develop technical training curriculum, lesson plans, and materials for the Technical Trainers to deliver. Drive LMS configuration and utilization to manage training storage, scheduling, and completion tracking.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track, analyze, and report on the overall progress, performance, and maturity of the division's training initiatives. Report to senior leadership for the division and company on progress & challenges, and recommend improvements to enhance the program.
  • Systematically audit training outcomes to verify that employees are successfully performing their required job functions.
  • Partner with internal departments such as CI, Engineering, and Quality teams to design training interventions that proactively address skill gaps, reduce nonconformances, and support operational excellence.
  • Own accountability for the Master Skills Tracking Matrices for all manufacturing employees across the division.
  • Ensure all training records, certifications, and qualification pipelines comply with aerospace regulatory standards and specific customer contracts.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) and lead spokesperson for all internal and external training audits (such as NADCAP or AS9100).

Job Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire direct reports in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mastery of adult learning principles, instructional design, and blended learning methodologies (classroom, virtual, hands-on, and simulation).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • High attention to detail with deep familiarity regarding aerospace regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple curriculum developments, training schedules, and system-wide tracking projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor operators, customer auditors, and executive leadership.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of training experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or program leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating strict aerospace regulations.
  • Hands-on experience managing and auditing training records, ideally through a Learning Management System (LMS), MES, or ERP environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Education, Human Resources, or a related technical discipline OR a minimum of 4 years of equivalent hands on experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or managerial roles involving training tracking, curriculum development and supervisory skills.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or relevant industry standards (e.g., ASQ, Lean Six Sigma, IPC-CIT) preferred.

Work Location: 100% on-site

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to access, navigate, and perform audits across all departments and production floor areas within the assigned worksite.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop-floor environment (exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial materials while wearing appropriate PPE).
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support corporate initiatives or customer audits (~5–10%).
