Job summary

Lennox, based in Olive Branch, MS, is seeking a Supervisory role in Distribution Operations to lead a front‑line team in a high‑volume parts distribution center. You will oversee inbound/outbound, pick/pack, shipping, and inventory movement while driving safety, quality, and on‑time performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in warehouse operations, strong leadership and communication skills, and hands‑on experience with WMS/ERP systems.

What Drives Success

The Supervisor, Distribution Operations is one of several supervisors responsible for leading an assigned front‑line team within a large, high‑volume parts and supplies distribution center. This role oversees the safe, accurate, and efficient execution of daily work, including inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory movement, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and returns activities. Working in partnership with peer supervisors and distribution center leadership, the Supervisor drives operational discipline, monitors performance against key metrics, resolves workflow issues, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, quality, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily distribution center operations for an assigned functional area, including receiving, put‑away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, staging, loading, and inventory movement for a large parts and supplies operation.
  • Ensure customer orders, branch replenishment, dealer shipments, and service parts requirements are fulfilled accurately, safely, and on time in a high‑volume, high‑SKU environment.
  • Plan, prioritize, and adjust daily work assignments, labor allocation, equipment usage, and workflow to meet service levels, productivity targets, shipping schedules, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor operational performance, including safety, quality, productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, on‑time shipping, dock flow, trailer utilization, and labor efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues such as order delays, capacity constraints, product shortages, damages, mis‑picks, loading errors, receiving discrepancies, and system transaction errors.
  • Partner with peer supervisors, inventory control, transportation, customer service, procurement, maintenance, and other distribution leaders to improve product flow, inventory availability, fulfillment accuracy, and customer experience.
  • Enforce safety expectations, OSHA requirements, equipment operating standards, housekeeping practices, and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant distribution center environment.
  • Use WMS, ERP, transportation, labor management, and reporting tools to manage daily execution, verify transaction accuracy, research issues, and communicate operational status.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardizing work processes, identifying waste, supporting Lean initiatives, improving handoffs between functions, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop assigned front‑line distribution associates and team leads; set clear expectations, provide feedback, address performance issues, and build a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Support staffing, attendance management, scheduling, cross‑training, onboarding, and succession planning to ensure operational coverage and team capability across shifts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, shift reports, operational records, compliance documentation, and communication related to daily performance, safety, quality, staffing, and issue resolution.
What We Are Looking For
Experience and Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations experience, including experience in a high‑volume distribution center environment.
  • Prior experience leading frontline teams, team leads, or hourly associates in a multi‑shift, fast‑paced distribution operation.
  • Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound distribution processes, including receiving, put‑away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, dock operations, and inventory movement.
  • Experience using WMS, ERP, transportation, labor management, or related warehouse technology; SAP, EWM, TM, or similar systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily execution, labor planning, productivity, safety, quality, and service‑level performance in a large distribution center.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and follow‑through skills.
  • Ability to work in an on‑site distribution center environment, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating or working around powered industrial equipment as required.
Preferred
  • Experience in HVAC, aftermarket parts, service parts, industrial supplies, or other high‑SKU parts distribution environments.
  • Experience supporting Lean, 5S, continuous improvement, automation, process standardization, or distribution center start‑up/ramp‑up activities.
  • Forklift or powered industrial equipment certification preferred or ability to obtain certification as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a distribution center environment, including regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work around conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, racking systems, and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to operate or become certified to operate powered industrial equipment as required by the role and facility procedures.
  • Ability to use computers, scanners, handheld devices, radios, and other warehouse technology to support daily operations.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including temperature changes, noise, dust, and active dock or material‑handling areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
What We Offer
Compensation

This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $59K - $78K annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
