JOB SUMMARY :

Manages personnel in the Security Alarm Center which includes both Alarm Monitoring and Asset Protection Hotline for both 7-Eleven and Legacy Speedway; establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency of assigned operations, ensures proper store safety, and ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :

  • Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates and motivates the Alarm Monitoring and the Asset Protection Hotline team for 7-Eleven and Legacy Speedway; directs the daily work of the department
  • Trains employees on department policies and procedures. Evaluates employees based on various performance metrics and determines if additional training is necessary. Conducts training as needed
  • Creates materials necessary to update procedures and training; generates reports related to testing, alarm activities
  • Oversees fire monitoring where required for Speedway locations; maintains vendor relationships; works with AHJs to remedy violations and requirements
  • Manages relationships with third party burglary/intrusion monitoring vendors
  • Manages and oversees projects of department operations related initiatives
  • Works together with store, field and department personnel to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed. Communicates all procedural changes to employees
  • Responds quickly to report any problems to and from the Divisions, police, fire and environmental departments when necessary
  • Monitors hardware and software performance, problems and maintenance. Makes recommendations for changes to hardware and software as necessary
  • Ensures staff coverage 24 hours per day, seven days per week
  • Develops department budget, establishes direction and sets priorities for spending based upon Company guidelines and strategy. Manages spending accordingly
  • Assists Asset Protection and HR in confidential personnel investigations
  • Manages emergency responses, including, but not limited to, medical, fire, severe weather, and security, that are made to the internal emergency response number
  • Conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary consideration for personnel
  • Provides expertise at field meetings by attending and presenting information as needed
  • Orders equipment and manages vendor relationships (Bosch, CBE, etc.)
  • Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ years

YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 5+ years

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: NA

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues
  • Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with findings, employee data and Company information
  • Ability to perform repeated bending, standing and reaching
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
