If you're passionate about meaningful work and want to be part of something bigger than yourself, Caris is where your impact begins.Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly capable Security Supervisor to oversee daily physical security operations within a fast-growing, publicly traded techbio environment of approximately 2,000 employees.This role is responsible for supervising security officers and daily security activities, ensuring effective response to security incidents, and providing oversight of critical physical security functions—including access control, patrols, visitor management, and coordination with laboratory-related emergency procedures. The Security Supervisor plays a key leadership role in maintaining operational readiness, ensuring compliance, and coordinating response efforts to protect employees, facilities, intellectual property, and research environments.Job ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily security operations, including patrols, access control, dispatch, incident response, mass communications, and escalation activities.Lead, coach, and develop Security Officers to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures.Ensure 24/7 coverage and operational continuity, including scheduling and shift oversight.Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-impact security events.Provide oversight of access control systems, CCTV platforms, intrusion detection systems, and alarm monitoring, coordinating with the SOC or vendors as needed for technical issues.Oversee badge access provisioning controls and ensure alignment with HR and compliance requirements.Coordinate response to laboratory-related emergencies, including environmental alarms, critical equipment alerts, and life safety system activations.Partner with EHS, Facilities, and lab operations teams during critical incidents.Ensure proper escalation protocols for hazardous material incidents, power disruptions, and facility emergencies.Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and after-action reviews.Oversee incident documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.Review and approve incident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.Identify trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies.Maintain evidence integrity and proper chain-of-custody procedures when required.Support the Sr. Investigator in critical investigations, ensuring accuracy and follow-through.Ensure security operations align with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.Assist in developing and updating security SOPs, post orders, and response protocols.Monitor KPIs and service-level metrics to drive operational excellence.Support internal and external audits related to physical security programs and controls.Conduct site security patrols and inspections to identify vulnerabilities and ensure protocol compliance.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in corporate security or physical security operations, including 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.Experience responding to facility, laboratory, or operational emergencies.Strong working knowledge of access control systems, CCTV platforms, and alarm monitoring technologies.Proficiency with incident reporting systems.Proven operational leadership in high-stakes or fast-paced environments.Skilled in incident command, escalation management, and coordination with cross-functional teams.Ability to assess security events and make calm, decisive, and sound operational decisions under pressure.Strong written and verbal communication skills.High level of attention to detail in documentation, monitoring, and response procedures.Effective cross-functional collaboration with security, facilities, EHS, and other operational partners.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.Able to work Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pmPreferred QualificationsExperience in a publicly traded or highly regulated industry (biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or technology).Professional security certifications.Familiarity with environmental health & safety (EHS) coordination.Experience implementing or optimizing physical security technologies.Physical DemandsMust possess ability to stand, walk, and patrol facilities for extended periods, as well as sit and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.Ability to work extended hours during implementations and on-call rotations.TrainingAll job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.OtherAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.Conditions of Employment: Individual must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, credit check ( applicable for certain positions) and reference verification.This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions.
