Why M Physicians?

The Supervisor - Complex Surgery Schedulers is responsible for supervising complex schedulers, including shift scheduling, communication between specialty clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (PAC), process improvement projects, and surgery scheduling, in accordance with M Physicians' policies and procedures.

What you will do as a Supervisor - Complex Surgery Schedulers:
  1. Perioperative Coordinator Supervision:
    • Manage the daily operations of the complex scheduling team, including communication facilitation, OR scheduling, staffing, recruiting, and monitoring productivity metrics.
    • Oversee staffing and recruitment efforts, ensuring appropriate staff coverage and tracking productivity.
    • Serve as the primary escalation point and problem-solving resource for team members, surgeons, and clinic leaders.
    • Provide onboarding, training, and guidance to staff on best practices and assist with implementing new procedures.
    • Lead and participate in process improvement projects.
  2. Surgery Scheduling:
    • Coordinate complex surgery scheduling with Centralized Surgery Scheduling for hospital and ASC ORs, both on-campus and system-wide.
    • Customize care plans to meet patient needs, collaborating with patients and caregivers for decision-making and education.
  3. Documentation:
    • Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters and surgical case details, in line with departmental procedures.
  4. Ancillary Scheduling:
    • Schedule all ancillary appointments related to surgery (labs, imaging, post-op visits, PAC visits, etc.).
  5. Patient Communication:
    • Provide patients with surgery details (time, location, date, directions, parking) to ensure readiness.
  6. Patient Education:
    • Offer basic educational information about surgical procedures via phone, mail, or other methods as requested.
What you will need:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 4 years in healthcare).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a busy healthcare setting requiring multitasking and excellent customer service, with a minimum of 2 years in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook.
  • One year of experience in staff training/onboarding.
  • One year of experience with surgical scheduling, medical terminology, and healthcare software (e.g., Epic).

Salary Range: $60,133 - $87,194 annually
