Job summary

Summa Health System is seeking a CDI Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Improvement program, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and clinical integrity of medical record documentation.

You will lead CDI specialists, support regulatory compliance, and foster collaboration among providers, coding, quality, and revenue cycle teams to achieve optimal patient care documentation and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with active nursing license or equivalent degree in Health Information Management.
• Five (5) years of clinical documentation experience in an acute care setting.
• CCDS or CDIP certification - Preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG methodology, and clinical documentation guidelines.
• Proven leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to analyze data, track trends, and present findings to leadership and providers.
• Strong critical thinking and decision making abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to coach providers and staff in a professional, collaborative manner.
• Proficient in EHR systems and CDI software tools.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Population Specific Competency: Interaction with patients/customers with dignity.
• Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

• Formal Education Required:
