Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a Central Billing Office Supervisor to lead the Specialty Physician Revenue Cycle AR team and collaborate with the CBO Manager. You will oversee daily AR activities, ensure accurate posting of adjustments and refunds, and generate essential reports to support cash flow goals.

You will also monitor staffing, coordinate PTO, and train Insurance Representatives to improve collections and resolve complex AR issues in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years supervision of accounts receivable in healthcare settings.
• Experience with insurance follow-up and secondary billing.
• Strong communication and staff oversight abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

• The Central Billing Office Supervisor works closely with the CBO Manager to prioritize open communication and responsible for daily supervision of Specialty Physician Revenue Cycle AR staff. The CBO Supervisor assures accurate and efficient insurance follow up as well as secondary billing. Duties include but are not limited to: collections, global billing, entry of payments, adjustments, denials, appeals, and refunds in accordance with the Specialty Physician Revenue Cycle processes and procedures. The CBO Supervisor will maximize cash flow and maintain gross days in receivables at or below departmental goals as well as other tasks as assigned. They will work with the Specialty practices to assure appropriate patient account data is obtained in compliance with contractual agreements, federal and state regulations.

• Core Job Functions
• Promptly reviews outstanding Credit Accounts receivable in addition to all submitted charge adjustment and other refund request forms. Accurately posts all approved requests for charge adjustment and refunds. Produces required, related reports and documents accounts properly.
• Reviews and logs all coworker PTO requests promptly. Daily maintains adequate staffing levels in all areas. Appropriately maintains open communication with coworkers regarding call-ins.
• Assures that staff is trained and maintains clearly defined duties for the Insurance Representatives. Monitors and reviews insurance accounts receivable, tracks and resolves problem accounts, and assists Insurance Representatives when they have difficulties collecting. Reports problems to the Manager, develops and implements appropriate improvements for accounts receivable resolution.
• Ensures staff complete their daily responsibilities in order to achieve the departmental monthly cash goal and maintain insurance accounts receivable greater than 90 day old at or below the departmental goal. Monitors reminder queues for Insurance Representatives to ensure timely and efficient follow up within established days of reminder queue. Monitors correspondence for timely response within established timeframes.
