Job summary

Corewell Health in Farmington Hills is seeking a supervisor for the Central Processing department. The role oversees Central Processing Technicians and coordinates with the CPD Educators and Surgical Materials Managers to resolve operational issues and implement new procedures.

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred One to two years of college.
• Five years of relevant experience Five years’ experience as a Central Processing Tech required. Computer experience required. One year of management experience required.
• Six months of relevant experience Knowledge of surgical equipment. Required
• CRT-Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) - Upon Hire required

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the day-to-day work of subordinates and assist in management of daily departmental operations.
• Respond to and resolve majority of the front-line operational problems.
• Coordinate inservices, meetings, training and orientation of new personnel in conjunction with the CPD educator, manager and surgical materials manager.
• Maintain discipline and corrective actions, as warranted.
• Assist in interviewing candidates for position openings and make hiring recommendations.
• Develop new procedures and update current ones.
• Accumulate QI statistics and report to manager.
• Demonstrates the delivery of excellent customer service by exhibiting the hospital’s ten customer service behaviors in every aspect of the job (100%).
