Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC in the United States seeks a Case Manager Supervisor to provide overall direction and supervision of Case Managers at a facility. You will oversee record maintenance, intake and discharge operations, and develop inmate goals and responsibilities.

The role includes establishing and monitoring inmate programs, coordinating payroll, preparing reports for the U.S. Parole Commission, and training staff in inmate management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human services.
  • CADC certification preferred.
  • Experience in a correctional setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Twelve Step programs (AA/NA).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team of professionals and implement team strategies.
  • Familiar with manuals and guidelines used by the facility.
  • Knowledgeable in inmate case management concepts.
  • Proficient with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction and supervision of Case Managers at a facility.
  • Oversee record maintenance, and intake and discharge operations.
  • Develop inmate goals and responsibilities.
  • Establish and monitor inmate programs and work detail.
  • Review correspondence from lawmakers and prepare responses.
  • Assist in training staff regarding inmate management.
  • Coordinate and control the inmate payroll system.
  • Prepare reports for the U.S. Parole Commission.
  • Gather information on inmate progress and activities.
  • Conduct intake screening and orientation for inmates.
  • Participate in planning institution programs and activities.
  • Formulate and maintain departmental budget.
  • Perform staff duty officer functions as required.
  • Advise inmates on sentences, pre-release planning, and parole.
  • Communicate with law enforcement and other parties as needed.
  • Liaise between the facility and contracting agency on case-management matters.
  • Advise management on inmate management problems.
  • Assist in managing the Urine Analysis program with Security.
  • Cover caseload during leave and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Case Manager Supervisor provides overall direction and supervision of Case Managers at a facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Case Manager Supervisor plans, directs, and manages the duties in the case management staff.
  • Oversees record maintenance, and intake and discharge operations of the facility.
  • Develops inmate goals and responsibilities.
  • The Case Manager Supervisor establishes and monitors inmate programs and work detail and ensures all details are fully staffed by inmates.
  • Reviews and monitors correspondence from members of political groups such as the judiciary, Congress, Senate, and other representatives, and prepares necessary responses.
  • Assists in training staff regarding inmate management.
  • Coordinates and controls the inmate payroll system.
  • Prepares reports for presentation to the U.S. Parole Commission.
  • Gathers information from various staff regarding inmates’ progress, adjustments, program participation, work reports, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Conducts intake screening and orientation programs to gather pertinent information and to advise inmates of required policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the planning of overall institution programs and inmate activities.
  • Formulates and maintains departmental budget.
  • Performs staff duty officer functions as required.
  • Advises inmates in areas regarding their sentences, pre-release planning, parole eligibility and hearings, and overall institution adjustment and activities.
  • Initiates, responds and writes correspondence to various law enforcement agencies, judicial systems and various other parties.
  • Provides liaison between the facility and contracting agency in matters pertaining to inmate case-management areas.
  • Advises management staff in areas of inmate management problems and other areas of concern.
  • Assists in managing the Urine Analysis program with the Security Manager.
  • Covers a caseload when a case manager in on leave.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human services.
  • Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CADC) preferred.
  • Preference given to experience within a correctional setting.
  • Working knowledge of the Twelve Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
  • Must be aware of various manuals and guidelines used by the facility.
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in basic principles of inmate case management and developing inmate goals and responsibilities during the incarceration period.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
