Job summary

Medical City Fort Worth is seeking a Supervisor Cardiac Cath Lab to oversee registered nurses, surgical techs, radiology techs and support staff in the catheterization laboratory. Under the Director of Cardiology, you will direct daily operations and ensure patient safety and compliance.

This role requires ACLS/BCLS within 30 days, Texas RN license, a bachelor’s or associate degree, and at least two years’ cath lab experience; supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • ACLS and BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Texas State RN license.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in a cardiac catheterization lab.
  • Prior supervisory experience in Cath Lab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise registered nurses, surgical technicians, radiology technicians, supply clerks, and transporters in the cath lab.
  • Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support performance improvement goals and organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members and evaluate performance.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Director of Cardiology the Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the registered nurses, surgical technicians, radiology technicians, and ancillary staff within the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Supervisor will also be responsible for directing and coordinating the daily functions of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Essential Job Functions
  • Supports the HCA Code of Conduct. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.
  • Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
  • Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.
  • Contributes to the organization’s five indicators of success: Employee Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, Patient Satisfaction, Continuous Performance Improvement, Community Involvement.
  • Assumes responsibility of cardiology services in the absence of the Director of Cardiology. Supervises Registered Nurses, surgical technicians, radiology technicians, supply clerk, and transporters in the performance of their daily duties.
  • Insures that hospital and departmental policies and procedures are carried out.
  • Continually reviews and evaluates team members practical application of knowledge and skills, providing guidance and coaching.
Additional Training As Required
  • Helps resolve staff questions or problems by acting as a resource.
  • Provides input on employee evaluations (input on daily operations).
  • Observes cost‑containment practices, evaluates and recommends appropriate inventory levels working with the supply clerk.
  • Actively participates in development and implementation of performance improvement activities within the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
  • Familiar with and able to perform all cath lab duties associated under their license.
  • Must be able to be flexible, approachable, maintain good communication skills with all personnel and medical staff, and perform duties in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate timecard records.
  • Demonstrates desirable work habits.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Texas State License (RN).
  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate Degree.
  • At least 2 years prior experience in a cardiac catheterization lab required.
  • Prior experience in Cath Lab supervisory role preferred.
