CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Supervisor Behavioral Nursing to lead a team delivering compassionate, high-quality care that supports patient recovery and well-being.

You will oversee staffing, drive performance, and partner with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing at hire.
  • 1–3 years leadership experience.
  • Registered Nurse license in IA.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staffing needs to meet patient, unit and hospital requirements and coordinate with others to ensure coverage.
  • Manage performance including goal-setting, feedback, recognition, skill development and corrective action as needed.
  • Monitor patient engagement, quality initiatives and safety across departments with applicable policies.
  • Coordinate operating systems, service standards and communication per system policies.
  • Ensure optimal use of department resources within budget and objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, federal and state regulations and standards.

  • Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit and Hospital needs, and collaborates with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
  • Manages performance including: goal-setting, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our commitments using corrective action.
  • Monitors and oversee customer and patient engagement, growth, quality initiatives and patient safety for multiple departments, utilizing regulatory and organization knowledge and policy for multiple areas as separate functions.
  • Coordinates and manages operating systems, operational standardization, service standards and communication methods in line with system policies and processes.
  • Ensures optimal utilization of department resources within guidelines set forth through capital and operation budget planning, implementation of practices that achieve defined objectives, and benchmark data.
  • Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in nursing upon hire and minimum of 1-3 years leadership experience

Pay Range

$38.78 - $56.24 /hour
