Job summary

Concentra, Inc. seeks an Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee daily AP operations in Addison, TX. The role supervises staff and ensures timely, accurate invoice and vendor payment processing, while enforcing internal controls and collaborating with Finance, Accounting and Procurement.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in AP or accounting, with at least 2 years in supervision, plus strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Excel and Oracle.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Accounts Payable or accounting field; 2+ years in supervisory role.
  • Minimum 3 years in an office environment.
  • Experience with high-volume, multi-facility AP operations is a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel and Oracle; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop accounts payable staff.
  • Set team goals and manage workload distributions.
  • Establish and enforce standard procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor daily activities and resolve complex issues or disputes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate and manage payment runs (checks and ACH).
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, including W-9 collection and 1099 reporting.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and address inquiries and payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Create process documentation for AP procedures.
  • Collaborate with procurement, fixed assets, accounting and finance to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support special projects as requested.

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounts payable department, supervising staff, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is also responsible for enforcing internal controls and polices, improving processes, coordinating payments, and collaborating with other departments like Finance, Accounting and Procurement.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop accounts payable staff.
  • Work with manager to set goals and objectives for the team and manage workload distributions.
  • Collaborate with manager to establish and enforce standard procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor daily activities and resolve complex issues or disputes.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate and manage payment runs (e.g. checks and ACH).
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, including W-9 collection and 1099 reporting.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and work with vendors to address inquiries and payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging reports.
  • Work with manager to identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Create process documentation to ensure a clear understanding of the operating procedures for all Accounts Payable processes.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, fixed assets, accounting and finance, to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
  • Support special projects and undertake other duties as requested.
Qualifications

Education Level: Some College Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Job-Related Experience

  • Customarily has at least the following experience: 5+ years in Accounts Payable or accounting related field at least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in an office environment
  • Experience working in a high-volume multiple facility operating structure environment is a plus
  • Accounts payable high-volume experience with various AP vendor types is a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a personal sense of urgency and attention to detail
