Lactalis USA in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Supervisor in Mozzarella Packaging. You will ensure the department operates efficiently, manage staffing, and uphold GMP/QC standards across shifts on the production floor.

The role requires strong communication skills, prior supervisory experience in food manufacturing, and the ability to lead a team while meeting production goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze daily operations and assess impact on department performance.
• Ensure department runs smoothly; complete supervisor rounds.
• Coordinate with other departments to enforce GMP/QC policies.
• Suggest and debate alternative methods for problem solving.
• Participate in budgeting and meet department goals.
• Hire and schedule staff, including temporary workers.
• Maintain records and report on performance metrics.
• Facilitate data exchange on the production floor between departments.

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Supervisor in Mozzarella Packaging based in Buffalo, New York.
Summary: Ensures the Mozzarella Packaging department is operating properly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:1. Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance. 2. Ensures department is running in a smooth efficient manner, completes supervisor rounds as required. 3. Works with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures and proper maintenance of equipment. 4. Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in problem solving procedure. 5. Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations. 6. Monitors punches and ensure there are sufficient personnel including temporary hours. 7. Completes all records and charting as required. 8. Meets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation supervisors to stay informed about all issues arising in the department. 9. Department employee meetings conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. 10. Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations). 11. Responsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary. 12. Actively works on the production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments. 13. Maintains open communication with all employees including department managers. 14. Implement special projects and procedures as directed. Requirements:

Education And/or Experience

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associates Degree in Business Administration or dairy science preferred
• Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
