Job summary

SafeSplash is seeking a Supervisor to oversee daily swim school operations, reporting to the General Manager. This role drives staff management, safety compliance, customer experience, and local marketing initiatives to deliver a premier program for children and families.

You may step in as an instructor and deliver lessons using SafeSplash curricula. Excellent communication and multitasking in a fast-paced setting are essential. 32+ hours weekly; pay is hourly based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience in aquatics or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable around water and interacting with children and parents.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 90 days of hire (we provide).
  • Lifeguard certification is preferred.
  • Experience in swim instruction is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily swim school operations, including deck management and front desk duties.
  • Step in as instructor when needed and deliver lessons per curriculum.
  • Serve as contact for staff and parents during hours to resolve concerns.
  • Monitor pool deck activities and promote safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in facility opening/closing and maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Support local marketing and community engagement.

Responsibilities
Operations
  • Operations Support: Assist in instructing, deck management and front desk duties to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Stepping in as a swimming instructor when necessary, delivering swim lessons that follow the SafeSplash® Brands Curriculum.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and parents during operating hours to resolve immediate concerns and inquiries.
  • Monitor pool deck activities and provide feedback to enhance lesson quality and
  • Facilities: Assist in the opening and closing of the facility and ensure proper processes and procedures are completed in the interior, exterior, pool and pump room to ensure cleanliness, safety and operational standards.
  • Safety: Promote a safety culture for our team, students, and parents by consistently executing the quality assurance and brand standards and responding accordingly.
  • Risk Management: Promote a culture of safety by consistently enforcing safety protocols and addressing potential hazards promptly.
Employee
  • Hiring & Staffing: Assist in interviews, and onboarding to integrate new employees.
  • Training & Development: Assist the General Manager in providing initial training for new staff and ongoing education for all team members to enhance their skills and stay current with standards.
  • Staff Scheduling: Assist in the scheduling of staff from finding substitutions, adding and removing classes and communicating to customers of scheduling changes.
  • Team Management: Supervise instructors and lifeguards to ensure high-quality lessons and adherence to safety and brand standards.
  • Retention-Focused: Foster an inclusive and positive workplace culture through teambuilding activities, recognition, and growth opportunities.
  • Culture of Performance: Provide employees with ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to foster continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Direct Reports: This role may have direct reports depending on the location volume.
Customer
  • Customer Experience: Deliver a world‑class experience by addressing customer inquiries, ensuring timely follow‑ups, and maintaining high satisfaction scores (NPS).
  • Customer Retention: Execute strategies to enhance customer engagement and retention, including proactive communication with parents about their child’s progress.
  • Customer Follow‑Up: Respond to customer requests effectively and promptly, as well as feedback from social platforms.
Marketing
  • Local Marketing: Assist in local marketing initiatives to promote programs and increase community involvement.
  • For example: Organize and attend local events and assist in delivering marketing material to local partners.
  • Social Media: Assist with creating and managing social media platforms to engage with customers and drive interest in the swim school.
  • Community Relations: Partner with the General Manager to strengthen relationships with local businesses and organizations, enhancing community visibility.
Job Type
  • Pay: Based on experience, location and volume impacts
  • Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
  • 32+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; some college coursework preferred.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience in aquatics, education, or related field preferred.

  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment while being agile and taking initiative
  • Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods

  • Lifeguard certification is preferred
  • Experience in swim instruction is desired
