Job summary

Acro Service Corp in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a manufacturing operations leader to guide daily productivity and continuous improvement. You will direct shift supervisors, empower teams, and drive cost, quality, safety and delivery goals.

Must have manufacturing or automotive experience, union background preferred, and a bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience; 5+ years leading teams and improving processes are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business/engineering field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team of direct reports.
• Previous experience in a union environment preferred.
• Manufacturing experience (assembly, machining) with KPI focus.
• KPI-driven and data-informed decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of direct reports and shift supervisors.
• Drive productivity, quality, cost, safety and delivery goals.
• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across shifts.
• Manage inventories and asset utilization to support production.
• Reduce waste, rework and non-value-added activities.
• Ensure alignment with customer expectations and effective communication on the production line.

Job description

Responsible for achieving daily productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, safety and EOE objectives through both individual and team contributions.

Provides direction, leadership, development, and support to shift supervisors through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manufacturing experience (assembly, machining), communication, KPI driven.

Manages off shift operations team; oversees support other function personnel; materials, quality, maintenance.

Reduces lost and idle time, non-conformities and non-value-added processes.

Ensures operator emphasis on customer expectations, and effective product line communication.

Continuous manufacturing process improvement resulting in reduced re-work and product scrap

Management of on-hand and work in process inventories.

Coordinate continuous improvement activities resulting in high quality and competitively priced products.

• Develops subordinates and ensures consistency in personnel policy administration
• Ability to manage and run departments by the number to ensure profitability .

Ensure effective utilization of assets.

Needs to be in manufacturing or automotive, previous manager experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team of direct reports
• Previous experience in a union environment preferred.
