Job summary

Technimark LLC is seeking a shift supervisor for its injection molding operation in Texas. The role focuses on leading manufacturing staff, enforcing safety, and ensuring process discipline across operations including assembly, stamping, and printing.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety rules and PPE compliance during the shift.
• Lead manufacturing staff: set expectations, schedule work, monitor progress, resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate shift hand-offs and walk-throughs with oncoming shift teams.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping; ensure clean, safe work environment.
• Enforce company policies per Employee Handbook.
• Adhere to quality procedures, including Certified Operator training and batch/QC processes.
• Coach, train, and evaluate employees; ensure proper signoffs.
• Maintain accurate employee time records and shift reporting.
• Utilize 6S to organize work cells and track lean metrics.
• Produce and analyze production performance records; IQ reconciliations.
• Create purchase orders for production consumables; manage batch records.
• Participate in daily production meetings and continuous improvement.
• Oversee training and development for future growth within the team.
• Discipline and performance management as needed.
• Coordinate workloads for Process Technicians and Material Handlers.
• Audit batch records, shift reports, and staging processes.
• Assist in mold changes and job changes as required.

Job description

• 5 years’ experience in injection molding and supervision preferred.
• Computer Skills, Personal computer software: spreadsheet, word processing, and electronic mail systems.
• Must have knowledge of secondary operations such as assembly, hot stamping, and pad printing.

• Duties

  • Ensure safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift, including proper use of PPE and exterior door security, and all related matters are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the company’s safety policy. Must also complete thorough STOP observations on the assigned frequency.
  • Lead manufacturing staff by communicating job expectations, scheduling work, planning, monitoring progress, conflict resolution and trouble shoot.
  • Coordinates with other Shift Supervisors to ensure effective shift-to-shift hand-off including a joint walk-through of the manufacturing area (should occur during 20-30 minutes prior to shift change), verifying that employees are communicating with oncoming shift regarding housekeeping and work-cell performance.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards (GMP/6S) to ensure a clean and safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate, enforce, and maintain all company policies and procedures per the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality procedures including Certified Operator training, NMR process/documentation and Quarantine process.
  • Effectively communicate (written & verbally) with all members of staff.
  • Coach, counsel, discipline and appraise employee’s job results on the assigned frequency, and on time.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained to meet our current and future demands of the shift and have received Certified Operator signoffs for current assignments.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in employee time records.
  • Utilizes 6S Principles to create and maintain organized work cells.
  • Report and measure manufacturing results including production, inventory, cycle #s and IQ reconciliation.
  • Produce manufacturing data by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data: lean manufacturing and DLE calculations.
  • Responsible for selecting, orienting, and developing employees for future growth opportunities.
  • Accountable for managing company resources in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Take an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to ensure success.
  • Utilizes problem solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems at hand.
  • Main areas to focus daily
  • Coordinate job changes and mold changes accordingly.
  • Coordinate workloads and priorities for Process Technicians.
  • Coordinate workloads and priorities for Material Handlers.
  • Responsible for production team member discipline and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor production output every 2 hrs. and escape downtime or issues to management.
  • Responsible for verifying and auditing Batch Records, Shift Reports, and the staging process.
  • Create Purchase Orders for production consumables.
  • Completed the Daily Production Meeting Report and manufacturing tabs.
  • Responsible for Batch Records and technicians.
  • General knowledge of injection molding processes, mold design, thermoplastic materials, injection machine maintenance, and manufacturing operation.
