Job summary

McClatchy is seeking a Lead Video Editor to shape the creative and editorial direction for video content across our digital slate. You will balance hands-on editing of high-priority projects with strategic oversight of a talented team, setting standards for storytelling, technical quality, and brand integrity.

You will mentor editors, collaborate with producers and editors to bring compelling stories to life, and refine workflows for efficiency and excellence.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in entertainment journalism, digital media, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university; ideally in Film Production, Video Production, or Media Production.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university preferred; ideally in Film Production, Video Production, Media Production, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
• Five years of experience in entertainment journalism, digital media, or related fields.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between 95k - 105k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.
