Job Purpose

Under supervision, supervises and performs security duties to ensure safety, loss prevention, and order, utilizing electronic security systems and operating vehicles if necessary. The position has two levels, with all personnel performing related duties, including those of lower levels.

Assignment Level I Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate subordinate staff; coordinate assignments.
• Train staff; address performance issues.
• Conduct roll calls; inspect officers and work areas.
• Respond to emergencies; investigate incidents; coordinate police if needed.
• Enforce policies; maintain records and reports.
• Prepare reports; inform superiors of security issues.
• May participate in plant layout decisions and act as liaison.
• Appear in court or assist law enforcement on cases.
• Perform duties of supervisor in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of security/law enforcement experience, or IEP diploma with 18 months of experience.
• Current NY State Peace Officer certification.

Additional Requirements

• A valid NY State driver’s license may be required based on operational needs.
