Job Title: Supervising Attorney
Job Location: Huntsville, AL (Remote Work from Home Option Available)
A prestigious law firm in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Supervising Attorney to manage a dynamic team within its Alabama Division. This role will focus on overseeing litigation and operational activities for the firm's clients, including mortgage lenders, servicers, banks, and other mortgage investors. The Supervising Attorney will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, oversee a team of attorneys and staff, and handle complex civil litigation, especially within mortgage foreclosures. This position also includes managing the department's P&L and driving business development.
Supervise and manage a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals
Oversee legal, risk mitigation, and cost control efforts in compliance with the CFPB and OCC
Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments (Bankruptcy, Litigation, Title, REO, HR, Accounting, IT)
Manage and direct the judicial foreclosure process for Alabama
Attend mediations, trials, and hearings as needed
Develop and enforce departmental policies and goals
Contribute to business development initiatives and marketing efforts
Assist in writing articles and delivering presentations for clients and trade associations
Handle multiple cases and projects simultaneously
Travel as needed for client or business purposes
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Alabama (AL); additional licensure in GA and TN is preferred
Minimum of 8 years of litigation and default management experience (foreclosure, title, bankruptcy, evictions, REO)
Expertise in mortgage foreclosure and civil litigation
Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing P&L responsibilities
JD from an accredited law school
Active membership in the state Bar with ongoing legal education
Licensed to practice law in AL (Required)
Licensure in GA and TN is a plus
Proficiency in legal software tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Ability to develop professional relationships and build rapport
Commitment to quality customer service for both internal and external clients
